BaZaa complements Google by searching listings created by users on their desktops, in contrast to searching web-pages
-
Web-Pages vs. Desktops; finding relevant information : Google searches cached web pages; it cannot easily search listings created dynamically by end-users. In contrast, BaZaa searches fresh information on the edge of the network with no requirement for the information to be in a particular web-based format (as required by Google). With BaZaa, you always get the latest relevant information as it becomes available; in contrast, Google relies on the notion of “metatags” to identify information (losing significant relevance) and then moves the information via the web into a central database before performing search. As such, the relevance and speed of BaZaa searches are a lot better in most cases in comparison with Google.
-
Automatic Notifications of future listing matches : BaZaa automatically pushes new matches to your desktop, even if the new listings are posted after your query is made; in effect, your query is always on the network, waiting for the next available match. With Google, you poll multiple websites manually via the 'traditional' web-experience. With BaZaa, the internet comes to you based on your preferences!
-
Dynamically changing information : BaZaa has no centralized database - new listings on the network edge are auto-matched against all outstanding queries and information pushed to matching clients; in contrast, information on Google is relatively stale when compared to BaZaa
With eBay
-
No Commissions : With BaZaa, you pay no commissions to sell items over the net. This results in significant savings in comparison with eBay.
-
Automatic Notifications of future listing matches : BaZaa automatically matches new listings with all outstanding queries over the network. Thus, new matches are now pushed to your desktop as they become available, even if they only become available after your listing is posted.
